This page is dedicated to the genealogy of the Concord Church Cemetery in Kentucky. I was there in August and took pictures of all the tombstones I could find. It was extremely grown over and full of animals and creatures of all kinds. It was very creepy and I really didn't like to be there, but I wanted to find our relatives who were buried there. My father tells me a story of when he was a kid, he and my grandparents would drive to Nicholasville and clean up the cemetery. They would have a family reunion there.

When we were there, we bought a copy of the History of Nicholas County which has a listing of people buried there. I will post the picture of those tombstones I found and then I will post the information out of the book. Some of it is synonymous and some of it is contradictory. There are about 20 stones that I have information for and about 20 listed in the book that I don't have pictures for.

The sign is posted at the road you turn onto to get to the cemetery. They've repaved the road, which makes it a little easier to get to, but there's not a real good place to park. Put on your hiking boots and plan on getting into large spider webs. We used large sticks to wave in front of us so we didn't walk into them. A pair of gloves would be a good idea in case you wanted to move some of the stones to be able to read them. A flashlight would also be a good idea, and some rubbing material if you wanted. We didn't do that, but we might next time.

Please let me know if you have dates for some that aren't listed or that I couldn't read - of which there are a few. If you have any use for this page or have relatives buried there, just write me a little note so I know if this page was worth it. Also, if you have any information for Rachel Jane Barr (our relative) please let us know. We're trying to research our history and we're having a hard time with the McCann side. One of her relatives married  James McCann and we are currently seaking additional information.

Thanks! Christie
